About Claira

Hi there! My name is Claira and I would love to work with your family! I recently moved back to the Sacramento area after living in Seattle for 3. 5 years where I worked as a nanny, teaching artist at a regional children's theatre teaching ages 3. 5-18, and a preschool teacher for ages 2-5. I hold an M. Ed in Special Education. I like working with kids because I find a lot of joy in interacting with them. Getting to know how they see the world and getting to step back into what it felt like to be a kid is really fulfilling for me. I started working with kids when I was younger by babysitting. I did that until college where I switched to teaching art classes to kids age 5-14. In grad school I nannied before switching to teaching theatre classes. My favorite job I've had was working as a preschool teacher because I was able to work with the same kids all year and really get to form those relationships with them and their families.
