I am a retired person and a former teacher of 13 years. I am a cancer survivor. I have spent years as a professional greenhouse grower and plant nursery worker. I find that my interest in gardening is good therapy for many people regardless of age and one that many seniors share. I enjoy listening to stories of their life. I also can really empathize with many of their health and physical challenges, as I am no longer young and have begun experiencing similar things. I can appreciate how difficult it is for family members to find someone trustworthy, competent and caring to look after their loved one.
