New to Care
This is a criminal background check required for all caregiver before they can message families.
I have 75 hours of theory classes and about 16 hours of clinical practice on nursing from Atlanta career institute. My goal in the future is to be a nurse. I decided to be a CNA first because the work is more hands on and personal which is important to build a caring relationship with your patients. Yes, being technical is half the battle but hospitality is the other, I believe taking the time to know people, to know how to help and serve them better. I have been trained and have skills in observing residents and reporting any health issues to the supervising nurse, taking care of a resident's personal hygiene, including bed bath, shaving, nail care etc, toileting residents, emptying catheter bags, monitoring vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure. Along with setting up of meal trays, and documenting food / fluid intake, feeding residents, making beds, keeping the residents space clean and tidy, and turning bed ridden residents to prevent bedsores. I chose this trade because I love helping and caring for people especially those in need and ultimately save lives and help make a difference.
