About Carolyn

Hi! My name is Carly. I recently moved to Reno for my husband's new job, and we're so excited to be living in the mountains again. We love to hike, ski, rock climb, go camping, and hang out with our snuggly tabby cat. I am a former elementary school teacher and current graduate student, working on my Masters in Library and Information Studies online through Texas Woman's University. I love working with students of all ages, especially in math and reading. As an educator, I love inspiring creativity and persistence in my students, so that they can develop into curious life-long learners. I am patient, adaptive, and positive. I really enjoy getting outside with kids whenever I can, I used to teach at an outdoor school in California for fifth and sixth graders. I have experience tutoring college-level, biology, math, English, and social studies. I feel confident and comfortable teaching these subjects, in addition to fundamental literacy and mathematics skills.
