This caregiver was initially very communicative during the application process and agreed to come in for an interview and shadowing. We confirmed the schedule the night before. Less than five minutes before the scheduled time, she texted to say there was a family emergency and that she would need to reschedule. Unfortunately, she never followed up or reached back out afterward. Caregiving roles like this require a high level of dependability, clear communication, and professionalism, especially when care needs are ongoing and time-sensitive. The lack of follow-through after canceling was disappointing and unprofessional.
