I'm an experienced educator with 15 years of teaching experience and a passion for helping students discover that learning can be both effective and enjoyable. I recently moved back to Palo Alto, CA, where I currently teach at an independent preparatory school in Atherton. My work as an educator has been recognized with several teaching and education awards, including being a 2025 ACTFL National Language Teacher of the Year finalist. I provide personalized tutoring in Spanish, French, Math, and test preparation, adapting my approach to each student's individual needs, goals, and learning style. I especially enjoy helping students build confidence and develop strategies that make challenging material feel more manageable. In addition to academic tutoring, I have coached students in executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, planning, study strategies, and developing greater independence as learners.

I started this journey looking for a Spanish tutor for my 1st grader who is in a Spanish immersion program in DC. We were fortunate to find and hire Carlos, a native Spanish speaker (such a plus) to work with our son two days a week. We have seen his confidence increase and his ability to read and comprehend Spanish greatly improve. We look forward to continuing to work with Carlos throughout the summer to help bridge the summer gap before he starts 2nd grade. Carlos is clearly experienced with teaching and helping children at their level. If you are considering a tutor, don't wait. I highly recommend Carlos.
