About Carlos

I'm Carlos! My childcare experience began at the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton, where I volunteered for four years before being hired to work in the Early Childhood Department for an additional two years. As an assistant teacher in a kindergarten classroom, I helped care for a class of 21 children and was responsible for everything from educational projects and worksheets to playground time, preparing lunches and snacks, and keeping the classroom organized and clean. I continue to serve as a youth mentor with the Boys & Girls Clubs and as a Senior City Counselor with ALJBS, where I mentor 50-60 high school juniors each year during an intensive weeklong leadership and civic education program. I'm comfortable working with children and teens (and dogs, Dobie dad here!) across a wide range of ages and personalities. I bring a combination of hands-on childcare experience, patience, and a genuine ability to connect with young people.
