About Carissa

I have cared for seniors with a variety of needs including- companion care, dementia, incontinence, safety and fall prevention, light housekeeping and meal prep, driving to errands and doctors appointments, and medication reminders. I show up with my whole authentic self and have a passion for working with the elderly. I want to hear their wisdom and care for them gently and with dignity. I know that some accept help more readily then others and I am patient and creative as we build a relationship. At the end of the day I want everyone I encounter to feel loved. I receive just as much as the client, if not more in being a caregiver. To me, the most important elements of client care are compassion and respect. I believe that when one is vulnerable these elements are of the utmost importance. Being observant helps me notice the smallest gesture, smile, or act of patience that can make all the difference to someone.
