About Candace

My motto is ALL OF US WILL LEARN! With 18 years of experience, I'm committed to meeting students where they are and guiding them to the next level through rigorous, meaningful instruction. I hold a Master's in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from the University of Arkansas. Born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, I began teaching elementary school in 2007 before joining Houston ISD, where I served as a Learning Lab Teacher, Reading Interventionist, and Middle School Literacy Instructional Coach. I now work as an Assessment and Instruction Specialist supporting schools and families in literacy, classroom management, and social-emotional learning. I believe every child can succeed and love helping students and teachers grow in confidence and independence. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, exploring new restaurants, attending sporting events, and spending time with my daughter.
