About Candace

I'd describe my personality as patient, compassionate and fun! I like tutoring because I love helping students of all ages build confidence with their literacy skills I started tutoring over 10 years ago. I began teaching Pre K level in my own daycare. Then I began teaching classes with ages 4-12 for Classical Conversations, eventually directing a campus. I've also tutored at Read Learning Center in Sacramento for a year, teaching literacy, math and writing. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my three daughters, read as much as I can, attend church and hang out with friends I have had a passion for teaching all my life. I think learning should be fun and love to encourage my students to feel the same! My skills include tutoring reading and spelling using the Barton System, as well as grammar and essay writing skills using The Institute for Excellence in Writing. I've worked with children with a variety of learning differences, especially dyslexia.
