In high school, I joined the Unified Track Team and became an Assistant Teacher in the Special Education classroom shortly after. I am still friends with a number of the teens I met there and found that it completely changed my life. Over the summer, I worked at Center for Spectrum Services (a school for children with autism) and had an amazing time there. I am a strong believer that our differences make us beautiful, and that neuro divergent, disabled, and special needs people deserve the same respect as anyone else. I have found that the special needs children I have worked with over the years have been some of the most compassionate, smart, and unique individuals I have ever met!
