I've been tutoring for math since Freshman year of high school (I'm a Senior in college now, so for the last 8 years)! In high school I mostly chose to volunteer tutor, although I did receive payment once or twice. Once I hit college I chose to charge for my tutoring services (usually $10/hr). I've tutored kids and classmates for all types of math, from basic word problems all the way through classes like Multivariate Calculus and Linear Algebra. I have also tutored for some chemistry and physics classes. My go to method for tutoring involves breaking problems down into basic steps, and giving kids practice with each of those steps until they feel confident enough to solve the whole problem. However I also come prepared with at least two methods of solving problems, because kids learn differently and what works for one will not work for everyone. Math is honestly my passion, which means that while I can't make your kid like math, I am good at breaking math down into english!
