Served as both a companion and a friend to a 62-year-old gentleman (over 3 years) in an assisted living facility 3 days a week as well as serving as the family's advocate (located hours away). Experience as well as a volunteer in a memory care unit with a group of multiple seniors with varying levels of Alzheimer's / Dementia. Spent the last year plus 2 - 3 days a week with another 62-year-old gentleman helping with groceries, activities outdoors, along with hygiene prompting and light housekeeping. Past family issues dealing with Dementia and Alzheimer's helped me to recognize the need of additional support for families in need of assistance for their loved ones. Thank you.

Bruce is amazing - and we feel so fortunate to have found him! For the last 15 months, Bruce has been a companion and advocate for our family member (CB), who has young-onset dementia. Bruce first got involved when CB was living alone at his home and struggling with daily tasks and isolation. With CB's only daughter living out of state, Bruce quickly became an extension of the family and a trusted friend to CB. He took CB on outings to favorite and familiar places. He came up with ideas to make CB's daily life easier and safer. And he regularly kept in touch, texting updates and pictures. As CB's condition progressed, Bruce was involved in family discussions on next steps, always looking out for CB's best interests and being flexible to provide what support was needed. Now that CB has moved to a residential care facility, Bruce is continuing to support - taking CB on outings that keep him active and stimulated. Bruce has been a true blessing to the family on this difficult journey.
