About Brooke

In high school, my father was diagnosed with ALS. I served as his primary caregiver during his nearly three-year battle. During this time I found that I had a natural knack for taking care of people. I lead physical therapy sessions, fed him, clothed him, etc. In college, my grandmother developed dementia. Its progression was rapid, and I saw the frustration among my family and especially in my grandmother. I again found my self taking on the primary caretaker role, recognizing how to approach and handle delicate situations. I developed patience and empathy for those going through this terrible time. I was also able to find ways to bring the light back to grandmothers life, by making her feel young and alive again. I have seen the devastating effects that disease can have on a family and as such have found a passion for making their time as comfortable and fun as possible. I know the burden that families face, and find joy knowing I can relieve them of some of that heartache.
