Experience: 10 yrs
With a decade dedicated to senior care, I'm passionate about fostering independence and well-being for adults and seniors. My college education complements my hands-on experience in providing respite care, transportation, and home health services. I'm adept at managing medications, assisting with mobility, and preparing meals. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals with dementia, adapting to changing routines, and de-escalating stressful situations. I prioritize creating a comfortable environment and communicate with families through regular updates, following their preferred method. Compassionate and detail-oriented, I strive to be a reliable resource for both seniors and their families. Supporting you and your loved ones would be my pleasure. Nights, Weekends and Travel Companion (Domestic or International) available upon request. References available upon request.
Bridget cared for my mother for 4.5 years as my mom descended into dementia and until her death. Finding her was the best thing I could have done for my mom. She was able to connect with mom, support her, encourage her, and make her laugh. Bridget listened to mom's endless stories of the old days, cooked her favorite foods, managed her medications, accompanied her to doctor's appointments (and took notes for me), helped her in the garden, even took a trip with our family so that mom could handle the new setting with ease. Her gentle caring for my mom was consistent and touching, even when mom was getting agitated or aggressive with the Alzheimers. Bridget kept her cool and was able to distract mom to calm her down. She was flexible and willing to adjust work times or roles when needed, she was a great communicator with me and my sisters, and I inherently trusted her to do what was best for my mom. I would highly recommend Bridget for caregiving needs - she would be a gift for any family needing help.
