About Brendan

My name is Brendan. I'm 23 and a recent graduate of Dean College (bachelor's degree in athletic coaching and recreation management.) I've been working in Com Hab for the past 12 months with a 24-year-old individual. Our work together consists of travel training, pursuit of his interests, and encouraging, independent activities of daily living, including good hygiene, appropriate, dietary choices, exercise, and basic cooking skills. Working together, I've been able to open A up to new experiences outside his home, including restaurant dining without his parents, trying new foods, and improving his fitness by taking increasingly longer walks together, including on Roosevelt Island and in other NYC neighborhoods he wouldn't otherwise travel to. I'd very much like to work with other similar individuals, including children, teens, and young adults. (I was a camp counselor for four summers, in the city and in Rockland County, and like working with kids as well as adults.)
