About Brenda

I hired Brenda through Care.com to be with my quadriplegic husband at a rehabilitation facility. Within the first 2 weeks, she was unable to come to work on two occasions for family emergencies which I accepted but then she attempted to renegotiate nearly every term of our agreement, including demanding a 20% immediate pay increase - and then did not report for a scheduled shift in order to pressure me into accepting additional terms instead of honoring our employment agreement that was not even 2 weeks old while we discussed the matter or, if necessary, provide the notice I requested so that I could make alternative arrangements without leaving my husband alone (a bedridden quadriplegic). Reliability and consistency are essential in a caregiving role, especially when caring for someone in a vulnerable medical situation. Brenda’s behavior with her changing the terms of our original employment agreement, failure to show up, and unwillingness to continue working while terms were being negotiated, made it impossible to maintain the trust required for this position. I would not recommend her for any caregiving role.
