About Berkys

I came to the United States from the Dominican Republic 15 years ago. As an immigrant to the United States, my first job, I was as Senior Aide Attendant which I worked for 5 years. During my employment as a Senior Aide Attendant, I was offered an opportunity to work as an assistant teacher at a Family Day Care. As I worked as an assistant teacher, I was able to achieve my Child Development Associates (CDA), where I was able to learn classroom management and skills on how to encourage children to learn. My time as an assistant teacher pushed me to open my own licensed Family Day Care. The goal at my daycare is to make a positive impact on the children of the community. I provide opportunities for children to develop, become independent, and be creative. Most importantly, I like to have fun! I believe parents are their children's first teachers, and open communication is important .
