About Benjamin

I am a social studies educator with current teaching certifications from Maryland, DC, and Virginia. I have a Bachelor's degree in History and a Master's degree in Social Studies Education. I have a combined 6 years of experience teaching at the middle and high school levels in the DMV-area, including AP classes like AP World History and AP Comparative Government. Additionally, I coordinated the National History Day program at North Bethesda Middle School and was named the Maryland History Day Teacher of the Year for Montgomery County (2020) by Maryland Humanities. My teaching style is centered on building strong relationships with my students. I then use those relationships to keep students engaged with material through techniques like guided readings, structured writing, and academic discussions.
