I worked numerous nights on the pediatric unit at Fletcher Allen Hospital. Many nights I worked one on one with children who had special needs. Many of these children were autistic (wide range spectrum depending on the child). I also worked with children with physical and emotional challenges. I feel I do very well with all children. I am patient but firm. I understand the importance of allowing each child to get comfortable with the person who is caring for them; their trust and comfort level is essential for the success in their care. I also taught gymnastics for 10 years and had a few children I gave private lessons to, who were unable to participate in a regular class, as it was outside their comfort zone. I raised 2 strong, beautiful daughters, who taught me my most valuable lessons.
