I have worked in home health care and residential care for approximately 10 years each. Within residential care, I provided residential habilitation services, as well as non-residential habilitation and specialized companion services within the community. I worked with people who had varying degrees of intellectual disabilities and worked with people who fell across the autistic spectrum I am very patient and easy-going but understand the importance of boundaries and limits. I am familiar with behavior plans as well as I have an excellent sense of humor and know the value of play. Because I had the amazing experience of attending the 2001 International VSA arts Convention, integrate the arts whenever possible. My core values are honesty, kindness and compassion. I am a "quick study" and can learn new skills quickly. I may be available for days and times outside what is posted, as well as distances beyond what is listed if the fit is right.
