About Ayva

Hi! My name is Ayva. Growing up in Oregon, I spent much of my childhood outside! I love to trail run, swim in our rivers and oceans, camp, bike, raft and kayak. I am very grateful for this early immersion in the outdoors; it has influenced my current philosophy in working with children. My experience in childcare began when I was in high school with short hours being a mother's help. For most of college, I was a nanny and babysitter for children aged 8 months to 12 years. I have provided neuro-affirming, long-term care for a family with two neurodiverse children. My senior year of college, I worked at a formal childcare facility and got experience in a classroom setting working with 15+ children at a time of varying ages. Here, I gained experience caring for infants as young as 6 weeks. I am comfortable working with all ages, stages and abilities. While I adapt to your parenting style, I believe in a play-based, child-led environment with an emphasis in age-appropriate outdoor play.
