Hello! My name is Aysia (pronounced like the continent), and I've proudly been supporting youth development and education for the past 10 years. During college, I worked as a part-time nanny to a family with 2 children, ages 4 and 7, before serving four AmeriCorps terms in the Boston Public School system. I've served as a Youth & Family Volunteer coordinator, supported 2 elementary classrooms as a City Year corps member, and also served as a 4th grade teaching resident with Boston Teacher Residency. As an Ameri-Corps alum, you can rest easy knowing that I have plenty of experience thinking on my feet, leading large groups of kids, and working with children of all temperaments and abilities. While teaching didn't end up being my passion, it did show me that my heart lies with social work. I'm hoping to find a role for the spring and summer before enrolling in U of M's School of Social Work full-time in the fall.
