About Avonlea

I have always loved working with children. I get to be a huge part of their development, watching them learn and grow, and getting to be a fundamental person in their lives that gets to encourage them and build their self confidence. I believe being such a person for children, starting in their earlier years, sets them up for success as they learn to navigate their place in the world. My approach is respect focus that must go both ways to build trust. I keep children on the schedule that is necessary for the household, teach manners and participating in cleaning up after themselves, and I expect kindness and healthly boundries. But I will be the first to volunteer to recreate a Bluey episode, to be a malfunctioning robot, or build an epic fort. I believe my approach with children encourages them to be children, and allows me to meet them where they are at, while simultaneously having them practice skills that will help them as they grow and enter new stages.
