I have been tutoring for nearly 5 years in nearly all math subjects, ranging from elementary math to college level statistics. I have recently completed my PhD in statistics and am looking for more opportunities to arraign my skill set into a teaching career. Ever since I have begun tutoring, I have made it a mission to help others succeed to achieve their math goals. But my strategy entails working with the student step by step and guiding them to understand the philosophy of the problem. I do not tutor to provide solutions to the problem. Just like how I would apply these steps in life, I provide guidance on how to attack a specific problem and ask students questions to see if they understand what the problem means. The ultimate goal I want for my students is for them to be able to solve these sort of problems with minimal guidance and I also want the satisfaction of my students having that "aha" moment and knowing they understand the problem going forward.
