About Avery

All of my jobs through high school and college have been in child or pet care. I am currently enrolled in my final year of college and will graduate with a degree in Elementary Education. To help pay my way through school, I am a substitute teacher for Virginia Beach City Public Schools. For the past four summers, I have worked as the lead counselor for a 12 week day camp program designed for kids from 4-12 years old. My responsibilities included creating an engaging agenda and ensuring the safety of each child enrolled. There were daily sessions of golf, tennis, pickleball, games, and swimming. Needless to say, I am an expert at applying sunscreen! My other passions include cooking and nutrition. I am an active person and believe all kids should be physically and mentally stimulated, not "zoned out" with technology. And finally, I have a spotless driving record, insurance, and my own transportation.
