I am currently a student at Illinois State University and my major is elementary education. Through my college I joined a program called college mentors for kids. This was an after school program where the students from a local elementary school would come to campus. You would be paired up with a student for the whole year. You would help your student with the planned activity or any homework assignments. My highschool provided a class, where a group of preschoolers would come to our school for three periods. You would get assigned a period and you were responsible to create and teach one lesson a week. This class allowed me to get the experience of creating lesson plans/activities and teaching a concept to students.

Ava arrived right on time and was immediately engaged with the kids. They loved playing games with her and had so much fun they were asking when she could come back. Very polite and interactive. Looking forward to Ava watching the kids again!
