About Ava

I am currently a student at Illinois State University and my major is elementary education. Through my college I joined a program called college mentors for kids. This was an after school program where the students from a local elementary school would come to campus. You would be paired up with a student for the whole year. You would help your student with the planned activity or any homework assignments. My highschool provided a class, where a group of preschoolers would come to our school for three periods. You would get assigned a period and you were responsible to create and teach one lesson a week. This class allowed me to get the experience of creating lesson plans/activities and teaching a concept to students.
