I worked at an inclusive preschool throughout college, and I traveled around all of the classrooms. I worked with students with autism, down syndrome, and behavioral issues. When working with students with differing abilities, I felt like I was truly making a difference. Then when I started student teaching I spent my time in a Structured Learning Classroom with non verbal students with high needs autism. Throughout my entire working career I helped students learn to build their social emotional and problem solving skills. I spent a lot of time working with the speech pathologists and occupational therapists, so I learned a lot about helping students with their AAC devices and helping them with their physical development. Throughout these experiences I fell in love with working with children with differing abilities.
