About Ashley

This review is long overdue, and I apologize for that! Ashley is amazing. She cared for our daughter for two years, and it was quite the journey. Our daughter was born premature, at 27 weeks. She spent 3 1/2 months in the NICU. When she finally came home, she had a feeding (GI) tube in her tummy that we had to use to give her formula. The feeds were 24/7 at first, and my wife and I would rotate. When we found Ashley, we were coming off of using the pump and moving to gravity feeds, where you pour a measured amount into a syringe and wait about a minute for it to go in. Then you wait 15 minutes, then do it again, and you do that 4 times for one feed. You repeated that process 8 times a day. Ashley had never done this, but she took to it right away and was soon an expert. We transitioned from that into solid foods, where we had to do math to calculate calories, and then compensate with the right amount of solid foods. Ashley was super great at that as well. I never had to tell her something more than once. She has now done thousands of tube feeds and I would trust her more with that than some nurses! Aside from handling all the medical needs, I have nothing but great things to say about Ashley. She is reliable, punctual, gentle while knowing how to set boundaries, and communicative. She's more of a quiet person until you get to know her, but she talked to our daughter all day long, and I feel like she really helped her learn to communicate. She took her to the park every day, and I trust her with our daughter implicitly. She protected her as much as I would. Our daughter loves her and still gets super excited when she comes to babysit. We've interviewed, hired, and tried out a dozen different caregivers over the years, just to cover as backup, etc. None of them compared to Ashley. She's phenomenal at what she does, and you will not regret hiring her. The only reason we don't still have her here full time is our daughter is now in the public preschool system, otherwise she would still be our nanny. She became like a member of the family, and both our kids will always remember her. If you're thinking about hiring her, don't hesitate, she is wonderful.
