As soon as I turned 18, I started volunteering at a daycare near my neighborhood when I lived in Orlando, FL for a little over a year before I moved to Portland, OR. I now volunteer in the pediatrics outpatient hematology/oncology and infusion clinic at a nearby hospital. I have always wanted to be around kids! I even want to be a pediatrician in the future. I love working on different arts and crafts with kids and seeing them grow!

We recently took an overseas trip and wanted to give the grandparents a well-deserved break over the weekends. Ashani was the perfect caregiver for our 4-year-old son! She was communicative, thoughtful, and made a real effort to understand our son’s routine and our parenting approach. Her experience showed in how she supported his impulse regulation and kept his days structured, safe, fun, and comforting.
