About Arlyss

Hello! I'm looking for a good, communicative family who values their children's education and my role as their tutor. I like tutoring because teaching comes naturally to me, particularly in 1:1 or small group settings. I have taught English literature, grammar, and math. I also taught piano and singing lessons. In 2022, I spent two months teaching grade school in a rural town in Ghana. Today, I teach music lessons and would love to tutor grade and high school again. One thing families should know is that l prioritize fostering joy and curiosity in everything I teach. I think learning is best absorbed when students feel excited about learning and empowered to expand their knowledge while being fully supported by their teacher. As a performing artist, I like to take dance classes, read books and plays, sing, and sew in my spare time. I also deeply value my relationships, and devote time to maintaining and growing my community. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your family!
