About ANN

We hired Ann through a personal referral to work with our sister who had suffered a stroke at 54 years old. Having lost the use of her left side, our sister was unable to return to her very busy and physically demanding retail job. She is feeling defeated and hopeless but Ann made it a point every day to remind her that she's getting stronger every day. Rather than taking the easy way and letting my sister sit around and watch TV all day, Ann kept her busy with OT-approved exercises, chatted about the latest news, encouraged her to practice moving around the house in her wheelchair, and took her for long strolls around the neighborhood. She did her very best to keep our sister engaged in life, even when she didn't want to be :) Ann is kind, energetic and positive, and takes great care to understand family and individual needs. Just as important as the care she provided our sister, she frequently let us know that she understood what we're going through as family members and offered words of encouragement even on the really hard days.
