Hi! My name is Annie , I'm a pre-medical post-bacc student at Penn- I live in university city. I have experience working with adults with developmental and intellectual uniqueness and disabilities. During college (and a bit of high school) I worked as direct support staff at a day program in Portland, Maine called Creative Trails. There I was provided with training to best support the participants at creative trails regardless of their size, age, or uniqueness. We did a range of activities including cooking, hiking, volunteer work, singing, art, yoga, beach trips, etc. It was one of my favorite jobs, and I miss it now that I am back in school. To clarify I am trained in direct support staff however I never reached my full DSP certification (I had to return to college for the year). I am CPR/first aid certified; I'm an extremely responsible and empathetic young woman. This is one my favorite populations of people to work with, and I hope we get the chance to meet!
