I began working with the disability community in college where I studied dance with a minor in special education. After graduation, I found a role combining dance and disability at a program facilitating the arts for people with developmental disabilities. I built wonderful relationships with well over 50 recurring clients over six years with various emotional, behavioral, medical, mobility and speech needs and skills. My experience included clients with various mobility methods and devices, limited verbal/non verbal communication, and tasks within my role expanded to ADL assistance, transportation, feeding and g-tube assistance, behavior and crisis management and more. I received my master's in Disability Studies and currently work in Disability Services at the City College of New York.
