My name is Annette and I am a German native. 
I have been working with children ages 3 to 6 in a preschool setting for over 27 years, and taught German to preschool students at the German Texan Heritage Society in Austin since 2006. I was the German lead teacher at the German Intern. Preschool of Texas in Austin from for 4 years. 
For 7 years I have been employed in a public school district Special-education classroom, working with children of different ages and various disabilities. I am CPR/First Aid certified and fully vaccinated against Covid. 
I started as an occasional private caregiver tutor many years ago and still work with families with small children as nanny babysitter. I enjoy being a part of their family as I also accompany them on trips, activities, international or domestic travel. Annette cared for our toddler and infant this summer and they took to her right away! She quickly took stock of all that we have in the house for the kiddos and utilized that information to keep them engaged in educational, fun and interactive ways. Annette worked in a life skills classroom with me for 2 years.  She was dedicated to the students' education and safety.  She worked with students from the ages of 5-9 and with varying levels of special education needs.  She was always enthusiastic and proactive.  She had a wonderful demeanor and added so much to the classroom.  She is punctual, dependable, and always seeking ways to help and be of service. Annette is one of the most energetic, enthusiastic people I know. Children feel and respond to her good nature, her intelligence, and her easy and steady authority. Annette worked in my Special Education classroom working with medically fragile students with a variety of physical, communication, behavioral, and emotional needs. The care, love, and dedication Annette gave the children and her job were unparalleled. She is one of the most hardworking and capable teachers I have ever worked with, but it is her kindness and willingness to go above and beyond that make Annette a true gem. Because she has worked with a variety of abilities and ages, Annette can individualize instruction or care to the needs of the individual she is working with- we had elementary students who were wheelchair-bound, had a student who had daily seizures, students who needed varying assistance toileting/working towards independence in self-care, and students in Preschool Programs for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) with communication deficits. Any child would be lucky to be under the care and light Annette brings into the lives of those around her. 

Annette is a very compassionate and dedicated individual. She goes above and beyond for the students/children she works with. She is very in tune to their individual needs and finds the best way to provide care and instruction.

Annette occasionally looked after our kids from ages 2 and 5, until 2006 when we moved away. Mostly at night and sometimes during the day. She played with the kids and fed them, put them to bed until we returned home, even late. She is very reliable and responsible, on time and prepared. If the kids were going to be awake she came with an idea of how to spend the time so that the kids would benefit from it and not just be looked after. Wonderful way of interacting, both kids loved her and still do.  Additionally to speaking German to our bilingual kids, she could also to tell them about German culture, children's songs, fairy tales, cultural habits of German children, which helped our children a great deal when we moved to Germany. She followed any of our instructions fully, food, bedtimes, rituals, discipline etc. It was very easy to work together as parent-babysitter-team. Great way with children, remarkable work ethic and a firm feeling of responsibility.

Loving, experienced and most of all fully trustworthy caregiver. Truly cares about the safety of the kids she is entrusted with. Best of all, speaks fluently German. She sincerely loves what she does which is the reason for the excellent quality of her services. 

We have used Frau Annette multiple times as both a caretaker and a German teacher for our daughter. I highly recommend her! She is very experienced, highly reliable and great communicator. We would definitely hire her again.

Our four-year old son has been in Annette's German class for a little over a year now. I cannot recommend her more highly. The children adore her, and she genuinely cares about their happiness and success. Every Saturday morning, our son roles out of bed and excitedly asks if he gets to go to Samstagsschule that day. As a parent, you can't ask for a better reaction than that. As a teacher, she is fantastic. Each week, her lessons are organized and age appropriate, and she always gives clear instructions to the parents so that we can reinforce what they're learning at home. For many of the parents, Annette has really become the face of that school--happily so--and we consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have her as our son's teacher.

Wonderful, loving and experienced caretaker, and also an excellent teacher! Our daughter loves Frau Annette. We know here originally from the German Free School downtown but have since hired her multiple times to take care of our children as well as for more structured German lessons, with great success. We recommend her without reservation!

Annette instructed our children as part of the "German School" program. She had well thought out and structured lessons. Her interaction with the children was always warm and welcoming.


My four-year-old son and I took German lessons from Annette and highly recommend her.  Somehow this incredible woman made the lessons hands-on for my little one and helped him develop a love for a second language.  Annette is patient, kind, and knowledgeable.
