I earned my associate's degree in Childhood Development, and for over 10 years I've been growing, learning, and pouring my heart into this field. Angelica was a great nanny for the first year. She was communicative and included my son in activities outside of her normal working hours. It was a pleasure to work with her. This year (the following school year) it started off well but then her communication fell off. Multiple times she texted me that she overslept or picked up my son too late to drop him by the bus and would take him straight to school. That’s not necessarily an issue but my son was marked late a few times because of it. I felt the shift in our communication although I tried to keep it light. Recently my son made the basketball team at school which naturally means her after school hours would be cut down for an hour. I realized one month (paid monthly) she charged me for the hours she didn’t have my son because he was at practice. I informed her that I wouldn’t pay for the hours she doesn’t have him. She gave me a 2 weeks notice after that leaving me in a precarious situation but thankfully I figured it out. I wish she would have communicated her needs better so we could have a conversation rather than how everything turned out but she was a great nanny to my son.
