I've been taking care of seniors for over 20 years, and I really treat my clients like family. I help with day to day things like meals, personal care, reminders, and keeping routines on track. I also enjoy getting my clients out the house when/if they feel up to it.. whether that's a short car ride, running errands, or just getting some fresh air. I pay attention to the little things & try to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, & not just sitting around all day. I also understand how important it is for families to feel at ease, so I always communicate & keep you updated. I've worked in private homes & in senior living facilities, so I'm comfortable with different levels of care, including medication assistance & daily support. At the end of the day, I just try to be someone people can rely on & feel good having around their loved one.
When Angela joined our family, my mother was going through a particularly challenging period. She was dealing with significant anxiety, difficulty leaving her residence, Parkinsonism, and frequent medication changes. Angela worked with my mother Monday through Friday, approximately six hours each day, and quickly became an important and trusted part of her care team. Angela's responsibilities went far beyond basic caregiving. She assisted with medication management, bathroom assistance, meal preparation, transportation and support for medical appointments, and daily activities. She also attended doctors' appointments with our family so she could better understand my mother's changing medical needs, medications, and how best to support her. One of our primary goals was to help my mother regain her independence and become more engaged with the community around her. At the time, my mother was extremely hesitant to be around other people and experienced considerable anxiety about leaving her comfort zone. Angela approached this challenge with tremendous patience, compassion, and persistence. She began by taking my mother on daily walks and gradually encouraged her to spend more time around other residents. She encouraged my mother to join others in the dining area for meals and slowly introduced her to community activities and events. Even when my mother initially had no interest in participating, Angela understood how important social interaction and engagement were to her overall well-being. Over time, Angela helped my mother become comfortable enough to participate in card groups and develop friendships within her community. The progress my mother has made has been remarkable. Today, she is back to what we consider her normal level of functioning and independence. She is able to bathe herself, warm up her own meals, manage her medications using an alarm clock, attend her physical and occupational therapy appointments, go to dinner, participate in community events, and regularly play cards with her group of friends. I truly believe we would not have reached this point without Angela's dedication and commitment. She never simply completed the tasks of caregiving; she took the time to understand my mother's needs, encouraged her when she was struggling, and continually looked for ways to help her regain confidence and independence. I cannot say enough about Angela's professionalism, thoughtfulness, patience, reliability, and communication. She consistently kept us informed and was attentive to changes in my mother's mood, behavior, routine, and needs. She treated my mother with dignity and respect while also knowing when to gently push her beyond her comfort zone for her own benefit. Angela's years of caregiving experience, combined with her ability to adapt to changing circumstances and individual family needs, make her an exceptional caregiver. I would highly recommend Angela to any individual or family looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, professional, and genuinely invested in the well-being of the person in her care. Our family is extremely grateful for everything Angela has done for my mother. She made a meaningful difference not only in my mother's daily life, but in her independence, confidence, and overall quality of life. I recommend Angela without hesitation
