Many had dementia, some Parkinson's while a few just needed a sweet companion. I provided the following services with the guidance of an established Care Plan. 1. Basic Hygiene Assistance - Bathing (Tub/Bed) - Brushing teeth - Shampooing/Conditioning hair - Comb/Brush Hair - Shaving - Dressing (Fully/Assisted) 2. Medication Reminders 3. Light Housekeeping - Sweeping - Making bed - Vacuuming - Bathroom/Kitchen tidying - Laundry 4. Prepare Meals 5. Chair/Bed Transfer Hoyer Lift & Sit-to-Stand Lift Gait Belt Transfers 6. Companionship - In the midst of all these duties, it is easy to forget one of the most important parts of care giving is companionship. I find joy in watching TV, reading, putting a puzzle together and just reminiscing about good times.

Andranise is such a sweet girl. The whole family called her Niecy. She instantly clicked with my parents. She was mainly there to prepare their meals and remind them to take their medication on time everyday. About 5 months after hiring Niecy, my dad passed away. He really loved Niecy. Naturally my mother was saddened and lonely. My brothers and I were thinking of a nursing home, Niecy volunteered to stay on as a companion for my mom. She stayed for 1 year before moving to Chicago. Our family missed her so much.
