Amy worked as our nanny for 3 months before quitting unexpectedly and leaving without warning, which did not allow our boys a goodbye and left our family in a very difficult position with my job. When she was present, she was kind and reliable. However, she struggled with managing any 'no' or 'not listening' behaviors from our strong-willed 4-year-old. We attempted to support her with resources, suggestions that work for us, and even offered to pay for a class to help her better manage these common behaviors. I had hoped that with her experience, she would have more patience and a greater willingness to adapt to the behavioral needs of a typically developing preschooler, but sadly, that was not our experience.
