About Amy

I'm Amy and have tutored for 20 years; it's my life's passion to tutor in a customized way to help tutorees meet their goals (I have been told my face lights up when I'm tutoring :)). I have three Ivy League degrees, I only mention that to give you more confidence and show range, but I'm very down to earth :). My degrees are in design, business, and engineering. I studied Spanish for 11 years. My specialties are test prep and math; I can also help with skills such as organization and reasoning. I worked at the company that invented computer-based tests and at a university. To me, fit is key and I try to make students feel very comfortable in opening up to me about what their true areas of concern and hope are. I do a free meeting first to get students comfortable. Lastly, my approach is to find creative ways to keep students engaged in the process. I have helped raise grades and test scores that show measurable improvement while keeping it an enjoyable experience.
