About Amber

Hi! I'm Amber, and I'd love to help your child build confidence in reading and math! I recently completed my Master's degree at UC Santa Barbara, and I've spent the past few years teaching and tutoring, including as an After School Program Leader, where I tutored elementary students one-on-one in math and reading and created my own worksheets to match what each kid needed. I also helped supervise and engage groups of up to 80 kids a day, so I'm very comfortable with the elementary age range, their energy, their attention spans, and what actually keeps them motivated. My approach is patient and encouraging. I like breaking things down into smaller steps so a concept really clicks, rather than just pushing through an assignment. I pay close attention to where a child is genuinely struggling versus where they just need more confidence. I'm reliable, warm, and genuinely enjoy this age group, there's nothing better than watching a kid go from "I can't do this" to "I actually get it now."
