About Amanda

I'd describe my personality as outgoing, kind, and patient. I like tutoring because I enjoy helping children build confidence and gain understanding through thoughtful lessons, guided practice, and independent work. I'm looking for a job that allows me to use my knowledge in elementary education to help children succeed in math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. I have been an elementary classroom teacher for 4 years. I have taught 4th grade, and I am trained in K-5 elementary education. I am branching out of the classroom temporarily so I can spend more time with my newborn daughter. In my spare time, I love to work on crafts, such as knitting, crochet, sewing, and cross stitch. I am an avid reader and baker. I love to play pickleball, fish, hike, swim, and go for runs. One thing you should know about me is I genuinely love to teach. This profession can be difficult, but it is also extremely rewarding!
