Hello! My name is Amanda M. I am going to be a junior at Aquinas College this upcoming fall. I am a Learning Disabilities Major (K-12) with a history minor. In high school, I was a part of the LINKS program where I assisted students with both cognitive and physical disabilities. I helped tutor them as well. For the past 3 years, I have been a buddy for an organization called the miracle league where I helped children from all different ages and disabilities participate in a summer baseball league. Similarly, I grew up with a younger brother who has autism, and have a lot of experience helping him with school work and socializing with him. I plan on heading back to Grand Rapids in the fall to continue schooling. During this time, I would love to gain more experience working with children, especially those I may end up teaching in my classroom someday. In terms of availability, I am a full-time college student as well as a collegiate athlete (I do cross country and track).
