About Amanda

Hello! My name is Amanda H. and I am currently a senior at The University of Wisconsin - River Falls and majoring in Communication Studies. Growing up I was the daughter of a firefighter and with this, I became the designated babysitter for all the firefighter families. This gave me well-rounded experience with children from infant to school-aged. I also worked with two boys from when they were 6 months old up until they went off to kindergarten. These were two very active boys and we would often spend most of the day outside burning off energy and enjoying the outdoors. I also have some experience working with special needs when I care for a girl with Turners syndrome. Her parents explained it as being 26 but having the mindset and capabilities of a 6-year-old. When I cared for her we would go to appointments, get out in the community, and a reminder of little things to do. I love all animals, especially dogs but I am extremely allergic to cats and bunnies.
