About Amanda

I have been an infant, daycare, preschool teacher and nanny for a combined 12+ years. I have experience with children infant age to about 6 years old mostly, and some latchkey/summer program experience with kids 7 and older as well. I have been both a lead and assistant teacher. I have experience with detailed lesson planning based on themes each week. I ran my own classroom, as well as with other teachers too, and have a passion for creative and very hands on activities. I love Montessori philosophy, play and approach. I strived to teach my kids, especially the younger kids about social and emotional development and communication and cooperative skills with other kids. I liked teaching my kids skills that made them gain their own independence and autonomy and I loved music, reading, exploring, outside time, messy play, and sensory play. I also have experience with kids with physical needs, specific speech needs and special needs. I support and affirm LGBTQ+ kids and families too!
