About Allison

Hi there, my name is Allison. I work as a freelance Sign Language Interpreter and am in my final year of grad school (online)! I live in Queens and currently contract with the DOE in Murray Hill, so during the summer my schedule is flexible! I am grateful to have experience working with children of all ages, from preschool through high school - as a teacher, teaching aide, and sign language interpreter. My recent experiences include supporting students at the kindergarten, elementary, and high school levels with a range of needs - including autism, ADHD, Tourette's syndrome, Down syndrome, learning disabilities/delays, as well as Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. I am passionate about fostering an environment where children can build their language, enhance their social skills, explore and be creative. It's so important to uplift with my words and create a space where people feel safe, worthy, heard and cared for. Also, more than happy to teach your little ones some ASL!
