I am appalled at Alison’s unprofessionalism. She ghosted us (and took our car seat) after spending 2 weeks in our home, caring for our son. 

Alison was hired for 13 days (M-F), with the possibility of extending for long term care for our toddler later in the year. She was a competent caregiver for the first ten days. She arrived on time except for one day when she communicated that she had a flat tire. Then, mysteriously with three days until the end of our agreed care period, Alison did not show up to work, text or answer phone calls. We never heard from her again. 

Alison has years of experience working with children, both as a nanny and in group childcare settings. She is comfortable navigating different parenting styles and when it comes to the most important parts of caring for young children (keeping them safe and ensuring they feel loved) she is a confident and competent nanny. She had a great relationship with both children in our recent nanny share and it was clear they loved her as well. She regularly read and played music for them. She was comfortable in the early days of introducing solids and offered ideas of foods that might be nice to try, or would come up with options that she would find around the house. 

She rarely missed work, but did often show up 5-10 minutes late. She was good at communicating if it would be any more than that.

Alison was a lifesaver for our family! She began caring for our son J in June 2020, after he had been out of daycare since March. Alison is so safe and responsible that we had no concerns about having her in our home every day during the early days of the pandemic. J wasn't used to having anyone but us around and he had a hard time with the transition at first, but Alison had such a calming presence and knew just what to do to help him (and help us not to worry about him!). Alison is a mother herself and has many years of experience as a nanny, so we knew James was in the safest hands. Alison also helped us come up with new ideas for what to feed J, activities to do with him, and toys and books that he might like that we hadn't considered, which was extremely helpful to us as new parents and a bonus on top of her great care for J. J loves Alison like she's a member of our family, and I would highly recommend her to take care of anyone's kiddos!

Alison was our nanny for a little over a year to our now two-year-old daughter. She is probably the most patient person I've ever met, has a great maternal instinct - she's a mother herself as well - and I would highly recommend her. Our daughter is a great communicator, has an advanced vocabulary - according to my sister who is a licensed speech pathologist - can count in English and French and loves to read, and I owe a lot of that to Alison. She and my daughter would read all the time and she would even buy her new books that my daughter would always love and read nonstop.  I cannot say enough great things about Alison. My daughter loved her and we did too! We would still have her as our own nanny if I didn't get laid off from my job. Any family is lucky to have her.

Alison was our full-time nanny for our daughter for a little over a year (until my daughter was 2 years old) and absolutely wonderful! Alison is probably the most patient person I've met and treated our daughter like her own. She is a parent herself, and her motherly instincts show in the way that she cared and communicated with our daughter. 

Our daughter is an avid reader, advanced with her speech and communication (according to my sister who is a licensed speech pathologist), and can count in English and French(!) and I give Alison a lot of that credit. They would read (no joke) at least 15 books a day and Alison would often buy her new books as well. The last book she bought her was about going to the doctor because my daughter mentioned she was scared of the doctor and it really helped. 

I really can't say enough great things about Alison. She feels like an extension of the family and we would still have her as our nanny if I didn't get laid off from my job. She's a gem!

Allison let us know our original interview couldn't work due to a sick child, which was fine and the notice was appreciated. We had a tentative date she was supposed to confirm for the new interview but she did not reach out. 

Alison was our full-time nanny for a year. We have boy/girl twins who are now 14 months. She watched them in our home from the time they were a few months old until over a year old. They love her! She is great about playing, reading books, and listening to music with them. She is caring and thoughtful with a good sense of humor. She was helpful with mixing formula and later cooking baby food from scratch. I'd recommend her to anyone looking for childcare, especially for infants and/or multiple younger children!
