My name is Alexus, and I'm a 30-year-old educator, mom, and passionate caregiver. I'm a proud graduate of Bowie State University with a B. S. in Early Childhood and Special Education, and I'm currently pursuing my master's degree to become a certified Reading and Math Instructional Specialist. I currently teach 2nd grade at a DC Public School and have over 10 years of experience working with children-as both a dedicated nanny and an educator. I absolutely love working with kids and have the joy of raising a bright and beautiful 8-year-old of my own. Over the past five years in the classroom, I've been recognized for my success in improving student performance, including through state-wide data scores. I specialize in helping young learners build strong reading and math foundations-and have successfully moved students up to two grade levels beyond where they began. Alexus cared for my almost two year old for two 10 hour days while I worked in the area and did a great job. She was very punctual and knowledgeable about caring for a child his age. She even brought toys for him to play with, which was very helpful because we were visiting from out of town. I will definitely contact her the next time I am in the area and need childcare.
