About Alexis

I'd describe my personality as patient, adaptable, and humorous. I find immense joy in tutoring because it allows me to witness the remarkable growth in students' confidence as they acquire new knowledge. By simplifying intricate concepts, I ensure that my own understanding of the subject remains sharp and current. I'm looking for a job that is flexible and when the student is genuinely interested in learning. I began tutoring during my second year of undergraduate studies at Iowa State University, specializing in BIOL 2110 and BIOL 2120. In my spare time, I like to go hiking, make crafts, or spend time with family and friends. One thing you should know about me is I love to make creative analogies to engage students when learning complex or boring topics, personalized to them, allowing the topic to click in their minds. My skills include adaptability, curriculum alignment, Socratic questioning, and relationship building.
