Throughout my work as an educator, I have rooted my teaching in supportive and challenging relationships with my students. I want to know who my students are as individuals and to encourage them to bring their whole selves into our work together.
Over the past four years, I have experience in a variety of settings, including an elementary school, a private tutoring company, and middle and high schools. This past year, I was a student teacher at MS 51 in Park Slope and Brooklyn School for Collaborative Studies in Carroll Gardens as I worked towards my masters degree in English Education at Columbia.
The pandemic has of course impacted my plans for the coming year, and I'm very open to working in alternative settings to help families weather the challenges of virtual learning. At Brooklyn Collaborative, I ran online learning for two 10th grade ELA classes, and I also have experience tutoring the ACT and SAT over zoom. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
